Re: long crank when cold, hard start

I finally took it to a shop, they replaced my distributor. I had just replaced it 6,000 miles ago. Granted it was an Amazon brand, but it had the very best ratings.
$150 shop fee and $50 for yet, another Amozon brand dizzy. Different brand though, still the highest ratings.

Re: long crank when cold, hard start

Ah, so frustrating! It wouldn't start this morning, just cranked and cranked.

Re: long crank when cold, hard start

I agree, thus my being so confused chasing the problem. My guess is being intermediate, what I thought fixed it or the correct fuel pressure was temporary deceit.

This morning, first try, starts right up. Intermitted problems are the worse!

long crank when cold, hard start

I have no codes, but fairly often, the '98 cranks for nearly 20 seconds in the morning until it fires, and runs perfect the remainder of the day. I swapped the crankshaft sensor thinking that was the problem, and it was only okay for a week or so. I checked fuel pressure and it was good and held pre...

Re: Service Engine Still on,a after Oxo Bank One Replaced

The replaced sensor was a Bosch, $75. It did have antilock on the threads. Upon exchanging, I noticed where the wire touched the exhaust, possibly shorting it.
The light is off again and we'll monitor it as we collect miles. Although it was very minor, hopefully it was just the exhaust grounding it.

Service Engine Still on,a after Oxo Bank One Replaced

Plugged in the OBD, did as it suggested, replaced the Oxo Sensor on Bank One, and cleared light. A day later, it comes back on and states the very same problem. Ideas?

Re: Time for new shocks

AutoZone was just so easy to walk in and buy what they offered, so I went with Gabrial Ultra, a far better shock than OEM. Install was easy and the ride is now significantly improved over my old worn out Edlebrocks. How much better had I chose another brand …I'll never know.

Re: Ignition Coil Replacement Procedure (shown with 2003 Ast

I never did this swap, completely forgot. I now have 224000 on original. My thought is its a part that rarely fails, so they bracketed in place with little access because it should need replaced. However for us, who keep these vans running far longer than most anyone would dream, we need to swap thi...

Re: 1986 GMC 1987 Chevy No High Speed Fan Blower Motor

Mine is a '98, but I've been chasing this problem for a few years as well. I wasn't aware of these links , expecting my year has them as well. I'll inspect them this weekend, thanks for the information. Mavens, you asked if they are repairable , short answer is no . But they are easily replaceable ....

AstroPhysics, This has been my experience as well. I prefer rubber, smoother ride.

I've been looking up parts; not great for Astro, attempting Blazer or S10. Are they same, I think yes.
